Jacksonville's Most Trusted Locksmith
Pop-A-Lock Locksmith of Jacksoville opened for business in June of 1995 by Sam Landers and two technicians. While getting the business started, Sam continued to work for the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
The business grew very quickly in the first six months of operation. Pioneering the refined art of car door unlocking, Pop-A-Lock was able to use specially developed tools and techniques to unlock cars fast and without damage. Prior to Pop-A-Lock, customers would rely on slim jims which often damaged vehicles, would break car windows, or would call law enforcement or the fire department to help. Once Pop-A-Lock launched this new service, people in unexpected situations where they had locked their keys in the car started calling a lot.
After the first year of business, Sam left his job at the University of North Florida to manage Pop-A-Lock full time. The business was growing fast, and needed his full bandwidth.
In addition to providing a valuable new service, Pop-A-Lock also launched with the notion it should give something back to the Jacksonville community. This was achieved with the FREE Emergency Door Unlock program (EDU). With this program, Pop-A-Lock will unlock any vehicle for FREE if a child or any person's life is in danger. Pop-A-Lock of Jacksonville holds the record for the Pop-A-Lock system nationally having unlocked more children than any other location.
Sam's success did not go unnoticed. He was honored by being on the cover of the Small Business Resource Network publication for using SBA resources so successfully to launch his business. A link to one of his quotes can still be found on their website today.
Pop-A-Lock remains a success story today. Since its launch focusing on car door unlocking, the operation has branched into full service automotive locksmith work, residential locksmith service, and commercial locksmith support. Employing over 20 technicians and locksmiths, Pop-A-Lock still prides itself on its long service to the Jacksonville FL community.
